Today, I want to take a closer look at Unbelievable Truth, an English rock band that has always resonated deeply with me.
Formed in 1993 in Oxford, England, the band is led by Andy Yorke, joined by Nigel Powell, Jason Moulster, and Jim Crosskey. The name of the band is inspired by Hal Hartley movie “The Unbelievable Truth”, a proper reference for a band making music with a profound emotional weight.
Our subject today is Dormant, the new album from Silent Skies duo, made of Tom S. Englund (Evergrey) and pianist / film score composer Vikram Shankar.

2023 Grammy ödülleri 5 Şubat gecesi (6 Şubat sabahı) bizim saatimizle yaklaşık 03:00 civarı belli oldu. Müthiş kar fırtınasının sesi yüzünden uyku tutmayınca Rock & Metal aleminden kazananlara bakarken, daha evvel de yazıp çizip davul çaldığım ve beklediğim üzere Ozzy Osbourne’a iki dalda ödül gelmesine memnun oldum. Diğer yandan da dört rock kategorisinin tamamında ödül alması gerekirdi diye düşünüyorum: Brandi Carlile’ın country-rock kırması ne idüğü belirsiz saçma parçasını hiç beğenmedim çünkü.
I think that today, the best music, good music and the music that makes sense is made in the field of extreme metal and progressive metal genres. At least, this is the kind of music that makes sense to me: deep, rich, worthy to think upon, satisfying. I believe that one of the most interesting works in the metal genre came from Teramaze this year.
Last week we have listened to the Rock and Metal songs from the massive TV series Stranger Things in Clubhouse Metal Oda. I was very much excited about this broadcast, I’ll tell you why…The sci-fi, horror drama TV series Stranger Things from Duffer Brothers is airing since 2016. I watched all episodes in four days and with very little sleep due to the excitement of its plot.
The incomparable progressive metal band Porcupine Tree are back with Closure/Continuation C/C after 13 years of silence, since their 2009 album The Incident. In his countless number of interviews, Steven Wilson at all times said that the PT were not coming back, those PT days were over and that he was happy with his solo projects. But now, after 13 years, here we are with the new PT album: the name of the album is very meaningful and I personally think that even the band has not totally decided whether it is a closure or a continuation.
