Since 1990, Wacken Open Air has reigned as one of the world’s most legendary metal festivals. Held annually in the tiny village of Wacken in Northern Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein region (just above Hamburg), this rural open-air experience brings thousands of metal music fans together from all over the globe. By now, visitors are affectionately called “metal pilgrims.”

This year, the festival will take place from July 30th to August 2nd, 2025—and, as always, tickets are completely sold out.
In recent years, Wacken has undergone some epic transformations:
- The festival expanded from 3 to 4 full days.
- The number of stages increased to a whopping 8 stages.
- Forget dragging beer kegs—beer now flows underground through custom pipes (yes, really!) which cost around 1 Million Euros.
- Thanks to an enhanced drainage system, muddy disasters are mostly a thing of the past.

The three main stages are now themed with Wacken’s famous motto: Faster, Harder, Louder, and all kick off on Wednesday. But that’s not all—Wacken 2025 also features:
🎮 An e-sports tent,
🧘♂️ Metal yoga,
🌱 And even cooking sessions with a black metal vegan chef! (cool!)
